The UN’s Membership has 193 undisputed, independent states and 2 independent observer states, The Holy See and Palestine. That leaves 135 places that most folks who’ve been to “all the countries“ miss when they use the Colonizers’ Count. The citizens of the 63 exclaves, like Kaliningrad and Alaska, receive all the rights of their mainland counterparts, though wholly, physically, disconnected. The 72 Colonies and territories like, for example, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and 63 exclave

Many islands, the most beautiful, fragile and threatened places on earth.

Only 26 people have visited ALL the places…but only 328, because 2 were recently added. Only 3 of them have been women. All of them were married. All were financed by their husbands. Only one traveled without him.

I’ve been to 136, so far, and I am committed to visiting the remaining 194 and, eventually collecting a series of portraits from each, which will necessitate returning to many of the places I visited before I had discovered photography.
